Hey Guys,
My question relates to injury, overtraining and illness. I suppose what I am worried about is getting to Tiger Muay thai and then having to stop after a week. I always get sick at the end of my heavy training phases back home no matter how well I take care of myself. I also would hate to get something small that kept me out like blisters or a cut on my knuckles that keeps opening up. So i suppose just wondering from any ones experience if there are some exercises/supplements/routines that I should definatley do or not do.
Cheers

Hi eddie,

My experience is to listen to you body if it comes to overtraining. Just train a few days only a afternoon session en sleep good.
You will get blisters but thats no thing to stop you from training. Just put some tape over it and you won't feel a thing. Same with cuts on your knuckles. Tape will help.
Supplements are better to bring with you. Just some protein will be enough i think.
If it comes to exercises in front of your trip just run, skip and stretch, than it's a little easier to concentrate on your technics if your there.

Cheers

Mike

ps: Is there a chance somebody from Tiger could upload the football pictures again because there not working

Thanks for the advice Mike. I also had one more question for anyone out there. I was just wondering what the running training is like at TMT, obviously I want to focus on Muay Thai but I have always loved 'gut running' and I think that this is one of the most ultimate forms of fitness

Sawasdee Eddie,

There is a saying: "Writers write."
There is another: "Muay Thai fighters run."

Most Muay Thai fighters consider running one of the most important aspects of their training because 75% of all Muay Thai fights go the distance of 5-rounds.
This requires outstanding stamina and endurance.
Running and clinch circles are two of the ways that Thai fighters develop a strong stamina.

Our trainers are part of an organized "Running Program" where they start with guests 2-times per day.

The running program does "long runs" and sprints as part of the Muay Thai training program.

Dear Tiger Gym Representative,

I was wondering: how much does a pair of 14 oz gloves cost in your camp?

Thanks!

Dear TMT,

I will be going over to your gym in december 09. Already got my airline ticket booked

One question: I'll be going for your mma program. What kind of equipment do I need?

Sawasdee Joshua

Muay Thai gloves (14 oz) run 1250 -1450 baht depending on make.

For the MMA program you will need MMA/ Muay Thai shorts, Rashguard, mouthpiece, 16 oz boxing gloves, (MMA gloves (optional).

Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Is there any ever 'crossfit' work outs done at Tiger Muay Thai? I have seen that this type of training is used for MMA alot. The 7:00am bootcamp would probably be alot like cross fit I imagine

Yes, the "Boot Camp Fitness Program" is used a s a "Cross-Fitness" program where you do a variety of exercises both anaerobic and aerobic in nature. Then you can move right into Muay Thai or MMA programs starting to continue your training.

Hello,

I require some info about you gym if you may. I fought on both kickboxing and thai-boxing in my country and was a Vice champion at muay thai. Then i had to stop and now i want to catch up the lost time in order to take it to the next level(european championship).

What i want to know if at your camp i can prepare: 2 times a day/everyday - and sunday's break with professional fighters(although i know they all fight from age 6-8 ) )

Also want to know if i stay for 1 month if i can have 4 fights :1 muay thai fight per week (not sparing , real fights) .

For a month as described above how much should i pay for training and a place to sleep.  I dont care about luxury i just want to train a have a place to sleep.

Thank you very much.

Sawasdee Madalin,

We can certainly prepare you for a fight. usually, if you are staying a month we will prepare you for 1 month for a fight.

You would need to arrive in fighting shape and have our training manager check your skill level before we will OK you for a fight. If you are in shape and fight ready, yes, we can book fight quickly.

However, unless a Thai fighter scores quick KO's, rarely do they fight more than 2-3 times in 1 month. You can want to fight each week, but that is determined by your previous fight.

1. Did you get cut or hurt?
2. Were you in fight shape?
3. Are you ready to fight again.

1 month Training and Budget room = 13,500 baht
1month training and dorm room (private) 11,500 baht

Any questions, please contact us for booking at info@tigermuaythai.com

I had a break because i had to find a good place to work and finish my studies.

1. While i fought, yes i had broken ribs, swollen legs, the usual stuff.
2. I didnt had cuts no.
3. Yes i'm in fighting shape and probably when i will arrive at your training camp i will be just after 1 or 2 fights.

Also i will bring another person with me that doesnt want to train just support so i dont come alone in Thailand. Can she sleep in the same room with me? or for that she must pay another fee and if this is the case, above 13 000 baht how much should she pay?

Sawasdee Madalin,

Yes, you are welcome to bring a friend at no extra charge. The Dorm rooms are not big enough to add an extra bed, but we can add an extra single bed to budget rooms at no extra charge.

Please contact info@tigermuaythai.com to make your booking and our training manager will schedule as many fights for you as we can in 1 month period.
